Producers planning ‘Rocky’ musical

    Haven’t we had enough?

Producers, songwriters and Sly Stallone himself have been planning a Rocky musical. And it looks like this thing is actually happening.

The New York Times reports a private meeting in April proved “creatively successful” and all signs point to a late 2012 debut in Germany, followed by a Broadway appearance in 2013.

Feeders, this is where I confess to you that despite being a lifelong Philadelphian, I’ve never seen any of the Rocky movies. I don’t even know how many there are. So you won’t be getting any subtle character reference here (I don’t know who Adrian is) or a clever pun. For this I don’t apologize.

Stallone won’t be reprising his role on stage, though. He’s considered only a producer and artistic partner, since he was the one to come up with the idea eight whole years ago. The show will be mostly based on the first movie.
