Prescribed burns ongoing throughout southern half of NJ Monday

    The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is conducting prescribed burns in the southern half of New Jersey Monday.

    Crews are working in the following areas:

    Lacey Twp. (Greenwood WMA)
    Little Egg Harbor Twp. (Stafford Forge WMA)
    Shamong Twp. (Wharton State Forest)
    Commercial and Downe Twps. (Millvillle WMA)
    Maurice River Twp. (Peaslee WMA)
    Winslow Twp. (Winslow WMA)
    Millstone Twp. (Assunpink WMA) 
    Estell Manor Twp. (Tuckahoe WMA)

    Large smoke columns will be visible near the burn sites, according to a release issued by the service.
