Power restored at Hope Creek nuclear reactor after pump repairs

South Jersey’s Hope Creek nuclear reactor was restored to service this morning after being shut down for repairs.

Crews had to shut down power at the reactor, which had been operating at half-power since a pump tripped Thursday.

Today’s Sunbeam reports Hope Creek service was restored around 3 a.m. following repairs to the motor generator circuitry. Full power will be restored gradually.
