Equipment failure responsible for 3 hour power outage Friday in Pottstown

    Equipment failure is being blamed for a nearly three-hour power outage in the downtown area of Pottstown Friday afternoon.

    The Mercury reports the equipment failure occurred in one of PECO’s circuits. A PECO spokesperson tells The Mercury the outage was reported around 3:20 p.m. Friday.

    The power was restored to most of the nearly 3,000 customers by 5 p.m., with power restored to the remaining customers by 6 p.m.
