University City Review: Powelton Neighborhood Plan unveiled to some skepticism

The fifty or so Powelton residents who gathered at the Community Education Center, 3500 Lancaster Ave, last Tuesday, September 22nd, voiced support for the Powelton Village Neighborhood Plan. But many also seemed skeptical about its ultimate effectiveness when implemented.

Comments from Powelton residents ranged from complaints over how Drexel students have ruined the neighborhood’s housing, to disbelief that the retail corridor along Lancaster Ave would ever improve to suggestions on how to make the plan more successful.
