Pottstown Police clear debris at area homeless camp

In a coordinated effort, Pottstown Police cleaned up an area tent city after giving notice to its residents that the camp was illegal.

The Mercury reports the cleanup effort was put into place a month after the tent city was given notice.

According to the report, 12 truckloads of debris were collected from a wooded area near College Drive and Keystone Boulevard.

The Mercury says the weekend cleanup was the second phase of a project that included a first phase of outreach for the area’s homeless population.
