Pottstown Middle School bans boots to prevent students from hiding contraband

Pottstown Middle School students who thought they were being clever by hiding their cell phones in their boots have another thing coming.

Wearing “outdoor, open top boots” will be prohibited during school hours come Monday, so say goodbye to your Ugg boots, kids.
The Mercury reports the ban is a way to prevent students from keeping contraband on their person during the school day. Just like with the cell phones, students will be able to wear the boots to school but will have to store them in their lockers during the day.

Feed the Feed: Is the boot ban a good idea, or does it pave the way for confusion about what’s acceptable?
