Portion of Spruce Street closed for University of Pennsylvania move-out

It’s move-out day for University of Pennsylvania students. But don’t worry about getting stuck among undergrads bearing boxes — Spruce Street will be closed today and tomorrow for the big move.

West Philly Local reports the stretch of Spruce between 34th and 38th streets is closed Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Only parents and bikes will have access during those times.

If you catch a glimpse of an abandoned lamp on a porch, it’s likely to be one of the many items as the large post-move-out yardsale next month. Everything the students leave behind will be on sale June 4 at a warehouse Penn owns. Proceeds go to Goodwill.
