A portion of Route 9 through the Lanoka Harbor section of Lacey Township is closed following an early afternoon motor vehicle crash.

A vehicle struck an utility pole near the intersection of Route 9 and Laurel Boulevard shortly after 12:30 p.m., according a release from the Lacey Township Police Department.

The pole cracked, and live wires fell onto the roadway. JCP&L crews are on the scene.

Police are directing traffic from Route 9, which is closed is both directions between Laurel Boulevard and South Street, to a detour at Laurel Boulevard. Expect delays in the area.
