Police have closed a portion of Route 70 in Manchester following a serious motor vehicle accident early Tuesday afternoon.
An accident investigation is underway at mile marker 34.5, closing the westbound lane at Route 539, according to an alert from the Manchester Township Police Department.
Traffic is heavy in the area of the scene, the Google Traffic map indicates.
Ocean County Police, Fire, and EMS is reporting that the collision involves a car and a tractor-trailer. A medevac was requested shortly after 1 p.m.
