A Toms River woman is facing drug distribution charges following a month long investigation into heroin distribution in the township, police say.

The investigation by the Toms River Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team concluded with a motor vehicle stop during the last week of February on a vehicle operated by Lisa Noumair, 48, of James Street, police spokesman Ralph Stocco said in a release.

Police then searched Noumair’s vehicle and residence, seizing 1192 wax folds of heroin and over $27,000, he said.

Authorities charged Noumair with possession of heroin and possession of heroin over one half ounce with the intent to distribute, according to the spokesman, adding that Noumair’s bail was set at $100,000 with no ten percent option.
