Seaside Park police release images of armed robbery person of interest

Police in Seaside Park have released images of a man suspected of being related to an armed robbery in late May.

A 48-year-old Seaside Heights resident was walking to her vehicle on the Boulevard near Porter Avenue shortly before midnight on Memorial Day when a man, brandishing a firearm, jumped from between two cars and attempted to grab her purse, according to Seaside Park Det. Chris Bonner.

A brief struggle ensued, and the man fled after the woman screamed and laid on her car horn, Bonner said. She was not injured.

Police want to speak with an individual identified as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s with facial hair on his chin, Bonner said.
