Police officers, pedestrian injured in Germantown crash

A pedestrian and two Philadelphia Police Officers were injured in an early morning crash on the 5700 block of Germantown Avenue in the city’s Germantown section.

WPVI-TV reports it began when officers responded to an incident at the Crab House Restaurant and Nightclub, where police say a disturbance inside of the club lead to several gunshots fired.

WPVI-TV says the two officers were injured as they were headed to the incident when they lost control of their vehicle, striking the center island as they approached Broad Street and Girard Avenue. WPVI-TV says the police cruiser went flying into the air and burst into flames when it landed.

According to the report, a female pedestrian was struck and thrown into the air.
