Police investigating stabbing, robbery at Brick gas station early Monday afternoon

    Police are investigating a stabbing and robbery at a gas station in Brick early Monday afternoon.

    The incident occurred at the Gulf gas station at 1150 Burnt Tavern Road shortly before 1 p.m., according to the Ocean County Police, Fire & EMS Facebook page.

    Police are searching for a thin, clean shaven white man described as 5-feet, 10-inches and 170-180 pounds, the report said. He was last seen wearing a green shirt, blue shorts, sunglasses and a baseball hat. The man, who fled on foot, is reportedly in possession of a switchblade and steak knife.

    The victim was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to a release from the Brick Police Department. The extent of injuries was not immediately known.
