Police investigating death of newborn found on Philadelphia proch

    Philadelphia Police are investigating the death of newborn who was found on the porch of a home on the 4900 block of North Marvine.

    Police say the baby was discovered Saturday morning.

    WPVI-TV reports residents at the home discovered the baby laying on their porch. The baby was declared dead when paramedics and police arrived.

    According to WPVI-TV, the baby girl still had the umbilical cord attached. She was found wrapped in a brown bath towel.

    Investigators believe the child may have died of hypothermia.

    It’s unclear why the baby was left at this particular home on North Marvine.
