Police in Lakewood responded to a most unusual call Monday morning.

Shortly before 8 a.m., Officers Jason Yahr and Matt Mcavoy were dispatched to the Estonian Lutheran Church on 7th Street to investigate a report of a deer inside the building, according to a release from the Lakewood Police Department.

Upon their arrival, a caretaker informed the officers that a deer had crashed through a first floor window and proceeded to destroy an office before leaving, the release said.

An investigation revealed that the deer may have become disoriented after possibly running into an exterior cinder block wall prior to entering the church, according to police.
