Police arrest man suspected of killing Nutter’s neighbor

Police last night arrested the man suspected of killing Mayor Michael Nutter’s neighbor. Robert Lancaster was 76 years old when he was beaten in his Wynnfield home last November. His suspected killer was found in an Upper Darby shelter and taken into custody.

Edward Gause, seen here smiling in this mugshot, was found at the Life Center of Eastern Delaware County having a meal. The 43-year-old’s last known address is near 17th and Cumberland streets in North Philadelphia, and he is believed to be transient or homeless.
