Plans for Central Delaware public space become feasible

With Foxwoods out of the way and an almost-OK from PECO, plans for the Central Delaware are looking promising.

As NewsWorks partner PlanPhilly reports, a Delaware River Waterfront Corporation meeting this morning revealed plans for public space along the waterfront in South Philly and Fishtown.

Penn Treaty Park could be the future home an arts venue, and Dickinson Street at the river might be on tap for a large park.

Some ideas we’d like to throw out there for other waterfront amusements: a boardwalk-like area with a ferris wheel, go-karts and mini golf, new restaurants and an underwater walkway to the Camden Aquarium. Dream big, people.
