Photos wanted of rare high tide off Barnegat Bay

There’s a rare high tide coming to Barnegat Bay and the Barnegat Bay Partnership is hoping you’ll take photos of it.

A king tide, which occurs when the Earth, moon and sun align twice a year, is expected Oct. 27, and the Barnegat Bay King Tide Photo Initiative is hoping to use photos to assist with research on how sea-level changes affect low-lying coastal areas.

Anyone in the right place at the right time is asked to take photos of the same location at different times this month and during the king tide and upload them to the Barnegat Bay King Tide Photo Initiative’s Flickr account with all the necessary information.
