Phoenixville Council votes for 19% tax increase

Phoenixville Borough Council has voted to approve a 19 percent tax hike and naturally, residents aren’t taking it so well.

There was one particular sticking point, as noted in the Mercury‘s report: the new borough hall.

Part of $7.6 million budget is a new $8 million borough hall, which residents argue isn’t a necessary expense but council members say is much-needed and could save money in the long run.
