Phoenixville considers minor league baseball stadium

Well if West Chester doesn’t want it, perhaps Phoenixville does. The Chester County borough is considering a minor league baseball stadium, for which West Chester has already rejected plans. A steering committee could bring the stadium to Phoenixville as soon as 2014.

Developer, the DeMutis Group, brought its plans to the borough when West Chester voted down Turks Head Alliance for its stadium proposal for both monetary and location issues.

A 20-member steering committee is now considering those factors and more, like design, league classification and how to sustain a stadium in the off-season, the Phoenix reports. Plans are in the very early stages, and the committee will meet for the first time Wednesday.
