Phliadelphia Media Network confirms Inquirer’s Paul Davies is no longer there

It’s been confirmed Paul Davies is no longer with the Philadelphia Inquirer/Philadelphia Media Network. Vice President of External Relations Mark Block confirmed the news to WHYY’s Lizz Fiedler this afternoon.

Davies drew attention to the paper last month when the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau took issue with his column about the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Davies’ criticism of the $786 million expansion jeopardized a $54 million deal for the Center, a PCVB spokesperson told NewsWorks in March.

No one has commented yet about why Davies is no longer with the paper, but the Inquirer and Daily News newsrooms are abuzz. We’ll keep you posted.
