Philly Weekly Q&A: Occupy Philly member runs for U.S. House seat

Take a breather from the presidential race for a second and think about this: There are state-level elections this year, too.

So just for a second, shift your attention from Newt and Mitt to Allyson and Nathan.

Allyson Schwartz is the current congresswoman in Pennsylvania’s 13th District, which includes parts of Philadelphia and the nearby suburbs. She’s being challenged this election by Nathan Kleinman. He’s got a degree from Georgetown and worked on Joe Sestak’s 2010 U.S. Senate campaign. He’s also an Occupy Philadelphia member.
NewsWorks partner Philadelphia Weekly published a Q&A with Kleinman yesterday, in which he Kleinman makes his case as a serious candidate and explains why he thinks Schwartz deserves a challenge.

His final words? “I know once people understand Congresswoman Schwartz’s true record, and once they understand I am a hardworking, serious, passionate individual who is well-prepared to be a United States congressman, I will win.?
