    Whether celebrating Passover or Easter this weekend, your family may need a break from each other and from the festivities.  From big bugs to hunting for eggs to playground fun, there’s always something to do in Philly with the family.

    Easter egg hunts for infants, toddlers, and young children, The Easter Bunny will make an appearance – you can visit and get FREE photos with the Easter Rabbit.     Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse, East Fairmount Park 

    Kids 10 and younger and their caregivers are invited to Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse to celebrate the seasonal reopening of Smith’s Playground. There will be a special preview party on the Playground, with an appearance from KYW’s Kidscast to give kids a chance to be news reporters. Families will enjoy carnival games, face painting, water ice and popcorn, and fun on the 6 1/2 acre Playground featuring the famous Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide and over 50 pieces of unique play equipment.     Stenton’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt 

    Stenton, 4601 18th Street, Philadelphia

    Grab your Easter basket and bring the whole family to Stenton to celebrate the Easter holiday.  Your basket will get filled with eggs and chocolate goodies! Kids will get treats and a lesson as they learn about natural dyes made from flowers, vegetables, and animal products while dyeing eggs that are provided. Other fun games and crafts available too!  Event is free, donations are greatly appreciated. Reservations are required as space is limited.     Big Bugs Are Coming

    Morris Arboretum, Northwestern Avenue, Philadelphia

    Come witness sculpture David Rogers build Big Bugs throughout the Morris Arboretum.  Made primarily from found materials, primarily trees and plants that have fallen and died, each Big Bug is a unique creation with its own whimsical character. You will find huge ants, a praying mantis, dragon fly and much more.  When you visit, be sure to check out the Out on a Limb exhibit where children can get a bird’s eye view of the forest, climb on nets like a squirrel and play in a huge robin’s nest.  Visit www.morrisarboretum.org
