Philly police probe road rage complaint against possible cop

Philadelphia police say they’re conducting an internal investigation into a road rage incident in which a man claiming to be an officer allegedly cursed at another driver then used a racial slur.

The alleged victim, Ahmed Khalil, tells WCAU-TV the incident happened when he was trying to merge into slow-moving traffic about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Khalil claims the other driver told him he was an officer and was in uniform, though he was driving a pickup truck, before pulling his gun and rolling down his window. That’s when the alleged officer used the slur and, Ahmed claims, told him to “Go back to your country.”

Khalil says he reported the incident to police then spoke with internal affairs investigators. Police have confirmed the probe and say they’re taking it seriously.
