Phillies to hold holiday sale and tree lighting ceremony this weekend

Although this month’s important winter baseball meetings are taking place, player transactions and the 2012 season won’t exactly be the topic of discussion this weekend, as the Philadelphia Phillies host their holiday sale and tree lighting ceremony.

The two-day event features the holiday ballpark and tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, along with a food drive, carolers and, of course, the Phillie Phanatic as “Phanta Claus.”

The Philles are asking those who attend the event to help the needy by bringing canned food items to the Majestic Clubhouse Store to benefit Philabundance.

The Phillies say parking is free in Lot S, which is located off Pattison Avenue between Broad Street and Citizens Bank Way. Drivers interested in using the free log must mention the Holiday Sale to lot attendants.
