Phillies announce date of makeup game against Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies have announced the date of the Saturday game that was postponed due to rain from Hurricane Irene.

According to the team’s official website, the Phillies’ game against the Florida Marlins at Citizens Bank Park will be made up as part of a twin bill on September 15.

In addition, the team announced that Saturday’s and Sunday’s games will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on September 15.  The first game is scheduled to begin at 2:35 p.m. with first pitch for the second game set for 7:35 p.m.

Sunday’s game was originally scheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader Saturday, but the threat of Irene forced the team to limit the schedule to just one game.  Eventually, that game was postponed due to the weather.
