Philadelphia schools closed tomorrow, School District adds four days to school year

All Philadelphia schools will be closed today due to the impending snow storm. Snowfall began falling, and is expected to continue through Friday morning.

Regional and administrative offices for the School District of Philadelphia will be open today, but will close early at noon. All sports and extracurricular activities are canceled for the day.

With yet another snow day (the fifth this school year), School District announced it will add four days to the year. The schedule for the 2009-2010 school year included only one snow day, so the following days have been tacked on to the calendar:

  • Monday, March 29
  • Monday, March 30
  • Tuesday, May 18
  • Friday, June 18
