Philadelphia region in the middle of U.S. obesity rankings

    An obesity ranking finds the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware region mostly in the middle among states ranging from Hawaii, at No. 1, to Mississippi, at No. 50. In addition, obese respondents report low well-being across a number of different areas.

    Consumer confidence rose steadily in general after the Great Recession sent it into a tailspin … peaking in January of this year. However, consumer confidence as measured by Gallup has been down ever since, and Gallup thinks that the price of gas has a lot to do with it.

    Presidential candidate Rick Santorum has declared that that, while as a good Catholic he admires Pope Francis, he doesn’t admire his stance on climate change … though Catholics are no less concerned about climate change than the average American.
