Philadelphia ranked fourth in nation for green roofs

Happy Earth Day indeed. Philadelphia ranks fourth in the nation for green roofs in the Green Roofs for Health Cities report. Our green roofs grew by 28.5 percent in 2010.

The top 10 U.S. Green Roof Cities rankings name Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, New York, Portland and Seattle as leaders who recognize the benefit of green roofs.

And we’ve got quite a few. PECO, the Comcast Center, Free Library, Friends Center of Philadelphia and Morris Arboretum’s Horticultural Center all have them.
