Philadelphia Library launches ‘Hot Spot on Wheels’ mobile computer van

If you were in West Philly today, it was probably hard to miss the “Hot Spot on Wheels.”

The blue and orange van is the Free Library of Philadelphia’s portable computer lab, and made its first stop today at the Rowan House in West Philadelphia.

Mayor Michael Nutter and Chief Innovation Officer Adel Ebeid will be there as residents get to test the van’s six Internet-capable computers. The Techmobile will bring basic training in computers, email, resume writing and other resources to Philadelphians who don’t have easy access to a library or community center computer labs.
