Philadelphia District Attorney’s office adds LGBT liaison

An attorney with a background in domestic violence and sexual abuse cases now has a new role at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office.

The office announced today that Florida native Helen Fitzpatrick will be the office’s liaison for the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Fitzpatrick came to Philadelphia as an assistant district attorney in 2008, and now works for the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit, according to a release from the DA’s office. Her affiliations with the LGBT community date back to college, where she was a member of an LGBT legal fraternity.
