Philadelphia City Council votes to sue Delaware River Basin Commission

    Philadelphia City Council has voted to join a lawsuit that would require the Delaware River Basin Commission to conduct impact studies before moving ahead with plans for natural gas drilling around the river’s watershed.

    NewsWorks partner Philadelphia Weekly reports council has agreed to join the Attorney General of New York and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network in a suit, which also accuses the DRBC of having already violated the National Environmental Policy Act.

    The vote was unanimous.
