Philadelphia among top 10 cities for cell phone loss or theft

Thirty-six percent of Philadelphia’s population has experienced cell phone loss or theft, according to a study by mobile security company Lookout. This makes Philly No. 9 in the top 10 U.S. cities for cell-phone loss.

Tek Lado cites the Lookout study, which broke down not just which cities are known for phone loss, but where’s you’re most likely to lose your device and how likely you are to get it back.

Drop it in a pool? You’ll probably get the phone back, but chances are slim it’ll still function. Taxis, changing rooms and restaurants all made the list of worst places to ose your phone. Miami ranked No. in the cities list for cell phone loss and theft, and Tampa was No. 10, with about the same numbers as Philadelphia.
