Penn State student says she was brutally hazed

Authorities are investigating allegations of a brutal hazing assault of an 18-year old Penn State freshman.

According to Maryland native, Asya Trowell, members of Omega Psi Phi’s little sister group, Omega Essence, were responsible for her attack.

Pennlive.com reports that, Trowell sustained three hours of “body blows,” which resulted in two black eyes, a bloody nose and abdominal bruising.

“It’s supposed to teach you about slavery and what your ancestors went through,” Trowell said in the article. “That’s insane.”

No charges have yet to be filed. Though Omega Psi Phi is a nationally chartered organization, it is not a recognized fraternity at Penn State.
