Pelosi, Christie to attend ribbon-cutting ceremony at prisoner re-entry center

Drug addiction is drawing Gov. Chris Christie, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and former Govs. Jim McGreevey and Tom Kean together.

They’re slated to mark the opening of a new prisoner re-entry center in Jersey Center Monday.

Martin’s Place offers on-site addiction treatment, housing assistance and job training programs. The center is designed to help ex-offenders beat addiction and build solid foundations so they don’t end up re-offending and back in jail.

McGreevey says the center provides the kind of treatment and structure needed to help ex-offenders turn their lives around.

Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra, made an HBO documentary about McGreevey after his resignation that chronicled his new life working with prisoner re-entry programs.
