Pedestrian struck by two vehicles, killed on I-495 in Del.
A deadly accident occurred overnight just south of Wilmington, Delaware in the northbound lanes of I-495.
According to Delawareonline.com, an oncoming tractor-trailer tanker truck struck a 47-year-old man who was standing in the middle lane of I-495. The driver of the truck “was unable to see the pedestrian, who was wearing dark colored clothing.”
The victim then landed in the center lane where he was struck again, this time by a 2013 Honda Accord.
Both vehicles came to a stop and helped to direct traffic until police arrived.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
