Peaceful parking

Parking in Wilminton just got a lot easier.

Wilmington City Council has approved revisions to parking, which will take effect Monday.

New regulations include a longer loading period for commercial vehicles and fewer restrictions for residential permit parking. Additionally, parkers across the city will now only have to wait one hour to return to the block they were previously parked on. Old regulations required a two- to four-hour waiting period.

The revisions are a result of a Downtown Parking Summit held by Wilmington City Council Member Hanifa Shabazz. WHYY’s Mark Fowser has more details on the new regulations.
