Paterno’s tie sells for $10,000 at auction

For Penn State football fans, it’s about more than wins. It’s about what coach Joe Paterno wears during the wins. The necktie the iconic coach wore during his 400th win sold for more than $10,000 at an auction last week.

The Penn State Public Broadcasting auction netted $10,200 for the paisley tie, the Associated Press reports. Paterno wore it during his 400th win as coach in the team’s Nov. 6 game against Northwestern.

A pair of his eyeglasses pulled $9,000 at last year’s auction. Someone needs better health insurance.
