Part owner of Delaware ice rink accused of abusing children

A 47 year old New Jersey man who owns the pro shop at The Pond Ice Arena in Newark faces charges including unlawful sexual contact with two teenage boys.

Scott Bicking is accused of inappropriately touching a 13 and 14 year old over the summer at the rink. Bicking, who in addition to owning the pro shop is also a part owner of the rink facility, turned himself in to Newark Police on Friday.

The Pond offers ice hockey and figure skating instruction along with open skating sessions on its two rinks.  It’s not clear why the boys were at the facility.  Newark Police say because of the sensitive nature of the investigation, only limited information about the case will be released.

Bicking is facing two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a person less than 18 years of age, and two counts of attempted unlawful sexual contact.
