Parkwood woman charged in attempted straw gun purchase

A Parkwood woman has been charged for allegedly trying to buy a gun for someone else.

Margaret Litton, 27, of the 3000-block of Morning Glory Road,  was caught during a state criminal background check after multiple attempts to make a straw purchase in Bucks County, according to a report.

On two occasions, Litton attempted to purchase a gun in the presence of others, raising red flags about possible intentions to use her clean criminal record to buy a handgun and then illegally sell it to someone else. She later told the attorney general’s gun violence task force she’d been recruited to purchase a gun for someone else in exchange for money.

She’s charged with records tampering, unsworn falsification to authorities, conspiracy and making false written statements.
