Parking horror story wins Daily News reader a prepaid SmartCard

For at least the next $50, Tyrone Pearsall shouldn’t have to worry about parking.

The Daily News reader won a $50 prepaid SmartCard from the paper for having the worst experience with the Philadelphia Parking Authority. His parking nightmare proved worse than four others’s experiences. And his ticket has since been resolved.

Columnist Ronnie Polaneczky profiled Pearsall last week after he parked in a spot on 38th Street in West Philadelphia and got a ticket for being in an unmarked vendors-only zone.

The ticket he got in March was dismissed last week after Pearsall did the legwork to get the Police Department, Streets Department and University of Pennsylvania to confirm the parking regulation signs he got the ticket for never existed in the first place.
