Pa. veterans say VA problems are nothing new
The hot topic among the 300 people attending Pennsylvania’s Veterans of Foreign Wars convention was the falsification of appointment records that covered up long wait times and treatment delays in the Veterans Affairs health care system.
Lancaster Newspapers reported Friday that veterans attending the convention in Lancaster say those problems are nothing new.
They say it’s a product of years of neglect.
Vietnam veteran James Lindsey of Reading says politicians promise to fix it, but nothing happens.
Dale Clair, who served in Vietnam, Bosnia and Iraq, says Congress finds money to go to war but not to care for veterans afterward. The Palmyra resident says members of Congress then find out the system is dilapidated and act like they have to jump through hoops to fix it.
