Pa. State System of Higher Education to consider 2012-13 tuition hikes

The board of governors of the State System of Higher Education on Monday afternoon is scheduled to consider 2012-13 tuition rates.

The Associated Press reports the board postponed its expected vote last month pending last week’s legislative approval of the state budget that keeps state funding for the universities level.

Funding for higher education in last year’s budget was cut by nearly 20 percent.

The AP says 120,000 students are enrolled in the 14 state universities.
