Pa. boy repeatedly dials 911 to report fake fires

A 5-year-old boy tied up emergency dispatchers outside Philadelphia when he repeatedly dialed 911 to report nonexistent fires.

Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito tells the Bucks County Courier Times that the boy made 10 calls in 15 minutes.

The first call reported a house fire on the street where the boy and his family live. Firefighters were dispatched, but found no sign of fire.

Dippolito says dispatchers quickly realized the calls were coming from the same cellphone.

He says the boy had gotten hold of his mom’s phone. She had no idea he was making the calls.

    No one was charged.
