Organizations unite for Camden’s ‘Back 2 School’ festival

Quick, what are three words no kid wants to hear in August?

    Back. To. School.

But the Camden County Cultural Center is not deterred. It’s hosting a Back 2 School Festival today, and amid all the backpacks and erasers will be some fun kids activities.

The event is a team effort by new Life Covenant Church of Chicago, New Life Dream Center of Camden, Image Makers Inc., NJEA/CEA, Camden Eye Center, Restoration/Men’s Alliance, Herr’s, Wawa and the City of Camden.

Parents can bring their kids for medical check-ups and school supplies, but once the backpacks have been properly stocked, kids can check out the dancers, rappers, bouncy houses, food and games.

The event runs form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Dudley Grange Park.
