Operation Warm prepares to donate its one millionth coat

More than a decade ago, Dick Sanford founded Operation Warm. Now the Chester County organization is preparing to give away its one millionth coat. Last year alone, the nonproft handed out more than 180,000 coats.
The Kennett Paper talked to Sanford, who said Operation Warm plans to make some coats next year from recycled plastic bottles. The move to go green is gradual. In the meantime, Sanford is considering moving manufacturing from China to Haiti to reduce travel emissions and create jobs in Haiti.
