South Philadelphia’s Xfinity Live! sets opening date

South Philadelphia’s newest entertainment venue is just weeks from its prospective opening. And on March 30, at 11 a.m., the doors to Xfinity Live! are set to open for the very first time.

Over the past nine months, construction crews have been working day and night to raise a new 60,000 square foot complex, at the site of the former Spectrum, in time for Phillie’s Opening Day, reported The Daily News

Local vendors have been retained and more than 800 full-time positions have been hired for the launch of Philadelphia’s latest event space. Retailers include sports apparel authority, Mitchell & Ness, as well as concessions from Chickie’s & Pete’s, Original Nick’s Roast Beef, and Phillip’s Seafood’s raw bar.

Family-friendly by day and adult oriented by night, Xfinity Live! will offer live music, sit-down dining, multiple dining options and a high-def audio and video system with a $3 million price tag.
