One dead, two injured in Pike Creek apartment shooting

One person is dead and two others injured after gunfire broke out at the Foxwood Apartments in Pike Creek.

Police were called to the unit block of Herlech Hall just before 6 p.m. Tuesday. The initial call was for a burglary in progress, until witnesses called 911 and reported a shooting.

 

According to New Castle County Police, 41-year-old Jason Brunson, a resident of the complex, broke into a neighbor’s apartment and shot a 40-year-old woman and her 19-year-old son, before turning the gun on himself.

Brunson was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two other victims were taken to Christiana Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
