Off-duty police officer killed on I-95
Brian Lorenzo, a 48-year-old Philadelphia police officer was headed home from a police detail at about 3:30 a.m. early Sunday morning. Lorenzo was traveling northbound on I-95 near Cottman Avenue on a motorcycle when a driver headed the wrong way on the highway struck and killed him.
ABC6 reports that Lorenzo was a 23-year veteran of the force and leaves behind a wife and three children.
The driver of the vehicle is in custody but has not yet been charged as police are still trying to determine of he was driving under the influence.
